P&WV Rib And U Channel 50 and 55 Ton Hoppers

In Feb of 1923, 1000 new steel 30 Ft. USRA 50 Ton Rib Hoppers began to arrive at Rook, Pa.  These were the first all steel cars the railroad ordered.  The cars were painted all black with white reporting marks.  Most cars were lettered Pittsburgh & West Virignia and a few were marked P.&W.V.  The last few cars in this ordered arrived by Dec, 1923 and all were placed in local mine run service.
