On the Model Railroader new products site today, Accurail is announcing a 41'6" gondola lettered for the P&WV. How accurate, I don't know. Price not released yet. |

Well this model stuff is getting interesting.
Don't know how close the 40'gon is (P&WV). Larry Kline,
I believe was working with or helping these folks with some photos.
Larry is our resident freight-car aficonado, I think he can answer this one.
Athearn, has released N&W GP35 #1300 (ex-P&WV 100)
that looks pretty good! Not sure how close this model compares.
I think both of these are in H.O. scale.
See Dec, 2005 current archive page. |

There is a model photo on the Accurail web site.
http://accurail.com/accurail/3700.htm
This car has been discussed on the STMFC Yahoo group (STMFC = steam era freight car) It is a model of the P&WV 7500-7799 series of gons built in Dec 1948 by Bethlehem steel. These were ARR 41' 6" IL gons. See the prototype photos on this site at:
http://www.thepwvhiline.com/GonCrazy/index.html
I expect the model to be accurate for the P&WV.
