Here are a group of photos shot today (11/26/05). We went to the West End Branch site where the derelict tank car sits to inspect and photograph it. We examined the car to find anything that would give us some history on this piece of rolling stock. If anyone has any more info or corrections let us know. Follow the link below.

Thanks, good record shots! Well I guess the car is not "interchange worthy" That part of the branch had a passing track, how far does it go? I would imagine that the passing track is not still attached to the "main line" of the branch? |

The passing track was actually a siding for loading coal. I have a early photo long before the 4 lane was built showing a overhead converyor crossing over to the back side of Mt. Washington. The siding, lots of coal hoppers. |

This photo was taken at the same location of the repaired wash out pictured in our current photos of this post. This 1937 photo was taken from below the track area on Neptune St. (West End) looking up at the gentle S curve. This area of ROW was a problem since the WSB days. They seemed to have finally fixed the problem this year.
