Well' here's a few more interesting questions these
images still need.
P&WV AC&F box car # 1217, 1232, any others receive this
paint & logo/slogan scheme?
Did the P&WV 60-ton off-set hoppers (#404 ) have the same color, red & yellow paint match?
Look close at these box-car images, "THE ALPHABET ROUTE"...
two(2) different size lettering-layout?
Did any of the PS-1 box cars get this paint style?
Also note: the solid " BX Block-style" and the " Hopper Stenciled style"
on the large logo & slogan. ?????
The B/W image Location Detroit Mi. circa: 65'-66' ????
Were all these cars re-painted & re-shopped at Rook?
Just a few more fun questions & P&WV car riddles to solve?
Enjoy,
JR/JZ

BTW,
The Official Railway Equipment Registry
Norfolk & Western (N&W) shows
ninty-three(93) 1200-1299 P&WV series cars
and
ninty-eight(98) 1300-1399 P&WV series box cars
on the N&W roster for Jan. 1, 1965.
P&WV off-set 60 ton hoppers series #3 - #595. shows 217 cars.
P&WV off-set 60-ton hoppers series # 700-#798 shows 97 cars.
***One last thing, the Hi-Line staff has never seen or found any Company
records/images that would indicate/show:
P&WV off-set
60 ton hoppers with THE ALPHABET ROUTE block letters & slogan
painted/stenciled WHITE on a BLACK car body, may not have existed.*** |

Was the "Symbol of Service" 60 ton hopper painted black with white lettering? |
