P&WV PS box car 1300 to 1399 series built 11/48. Class -XM 40' with 6' seven panel doors. Delivered new, these cars were box card red with white logo and reporting marks. some shopped cars after 1951 received the company slogan. Almost all cars shopped after 1956 were painted gloss black with white logo, reporting marks and company slogan.

 

P&WV 1310 PS1 delivered new 11/48.  Red car black ends, white reporting marks.  This is the only car we have a record of having this paint style. P&WV 1389 PS1 Box car.  Black car white lettering.  Circa 1956 (101kb) P&WV 1375 PS1.  All red car with white lettering and reporting marks.  Rook, PA.  Circa 1948. (312kb) P&WV 1301 PS1.  All black car with white lettering.  This car lasted into the N&W era.  Bellvue, Ohio.  10/71 (162kb) P&WV 1503.  50' double door leased from Mellon Trust.  In 1960 showed 13 cars on the roster.  These were retrofitted with racks for auto parts and were placed in pool service.  Pool consisted of like cars from the P&WV, NKP and the WM.  These cars carried GM auto parts manufactured at West Mifflin, PA, Baltimore MD., and Chicago. (145kb)
