Bill Harvey Images
We met Bill Harvey at the Avella Historical Meet. He is the author (Willard A. Harvey, Jr.) of a series of books entitled "Railroads of the Ohio Valley". We talked with Bill for quite a while and mentioned how we enjoyed his photos of the P&WV. He was introduced to the Hi-Line web site by us at Avella. We found Bill to be a great guy and he generously offered to let us use and scan his B/W negatives he photographed in the 50s and a few in the 60s. Having just purchased a large commercial pre-press scanner I was very excited about his generous offer. The 38 images of P&WV and Montour trains you will see have been scanned, cleaned and adjusted to provide just fantastic images of an era when steam was on the way out and diesel electric was on the way in.
