Sort of on topic as the B&LE connected through the Union to P&WV....
B&LE 2-10-4 #642 was recently sold to Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum. It had been landlocked in McKee's Rocks for a number of years. I don't know the plans for it - cosmetic or operational restoration. I also don't know how or when it will be moved. The status of the S2 and auxiliary tender that were stored with it are unknown at least by me. The Railway Preservation News Interchange has been keeping tabs on it for years if you want to keep up with it. AOSRM will likely have updates on their website as anything newsworthy gets released. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Just read some stuff on AOSR on line.
It seems they been watching and waiting quite some time
to get this big 2-10-4 to Sugar Creek. When JJ was on this
earth he admired it for the collection (cost was the only factor).
My bet, with the past-work that has been done on her.
B&LE 642 may at some point be " Hot & Rolling " again.
2-cents-worth
Jer.
BTW,
could/might/maybe AC&Y FM H-20-44 find a home in Sugar Creek ?????? |

Jerry had his eye on it a long time and tried to purchase it in the past but the price had been way too high. Too bad he's not here to finally see it happen. I'll bet he's smiling now. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Maybe only at AOSRSM. Definitely not on the main. Dynamic augment would pound the crap out of the track at speed and it's also curvature restricted. _________________ Eric Schlentner
