The first train of CWR since last year was out this morning. They dropped new rail from at least Pierce to just before the West end approach of the Mingo Creek Viaduct. The stick rail is going away. |

interesting. To think that a one point in time, it looked like the east end would be abandoned by N&W. Though the stick rail is likely pretty tired, you wouldn't see much investment without traffic to support it. Is this all due to the new chemical traffic? _________________ Eric Schlentner

Well,
from the information as we understand it. The CWR & other
ROW/bridge work is under way. As we hear the talk, the remainder of the east-end line (MP 20 east to C'ville)
is also planned. Funding$, some materials late-spring-2017.
We may see a new siding/passing/run-around track????. Some additional car traffic,
loads/mty's in & out of C'ville.
Interesting developments for the ol'e High & Dry line East... |

Ever since I've got back from Fort Benning, I've noticed a increase in traffic to/from Connellsville. Seems they run there about every other day |

It will be interesting to see where the new siding will go in. Rebuilding an old? clearing new land? So many possibilities |
