HMmmm ...JEZ!
Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be sure to re-shake
my piggy-bank to see if I got the $2,500 yet!
BTW, GPS wants to know when you "going post some of Your Pics". ???
Hi-Line folks would love to see some of that stuff!

I'd be kinda leery before you start rolling your pennies. Reproductions passed off as originals run rampant in the railroadiana market. The builder number for #65 was 20L-635. As far as I know, all the H20-44s were 20L-XXX. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Yep, you may-might-could be correct.
The James H. Mathews Co. Memorial Bronze Div. Plant
on Pgh's West Liberty Ave. could/would custom make these for about
$1000, less-artwork-cost, for two. Leave outside on your porch for a year to weather, and it will look just like the photo.
Maybe save yourself $1,500
if you just got to have two of these..... |

The seller makes his case and explains why it doesn't have the Builders No. 20-L ....easy way to find out....research to see if there is a 21L-635 listed under FM's builder numbers.
Hell, I've seen WM Steam Builders plates dated 2 or 3 months earlier than Official Company records have them..... as to month/year built with correct construction number.

Though a good source for general info, The Diesel Shop is not infallible. I guess the best place to look would be in company records if JR/JZ or someone else, like NWHS, hassome. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Wow. Though I am still the skeptic. The subject of bogus plates comes up often enough on RYPN that unless I trusted the source absolutely, I wouldn't spend a penny on them. Just my opinion, though..... _________________ Eric Schlentner
