After recently viewing the above referenced drawing on the web site, it was bought to my attention a few factual errors contained in it.

The timeline between 1961 and 1967 is when the discrepancies occur.

(1) The P&WV had no facilities at Connellsville, the only exception being a small building at the East End of the 4 Interchange Tracks, all on WM Right of Way.

(2) Bowest Jct: This is shown on the WM main track and is incorrectly named.
This should be named BOWEST, as this was the location of the telegraph office
at the switch to BOWEST YARD.

The location was one of the two (2) designated points for mainline crew exchanges between the P&WV/N&W and the WM operating Trains AJ-1 & AJ-12.
The other exchange location was "CV' Tower.

Bowest Jct. is the connection between the WM and the B&O's FM&P Subdivision 1.5 miles west of the telegraph office at the opposite end of BOWEST YARD.

(3) No.1 Secondary Track - Changed to Single Main Track
No.2 Secondary Track - Changed to GREENWOOD SIDING.

The above changes were made in the WM Western Division General Order #46
Dated Jan. 4, 1965 / Effective 12:01pm Jan. 5, 1965

This general order would have been furnished to all P&WV crew operations in/out of Connellsville/Bowest area.

In general, the tracing is 2 years out of date as shown.

Dave, thanks for the corrections & up-date regarding the WM drawing.
This diagram/drawing is a small part of the D. Elder Collection. The drawing
was mixed-in with several other WM/BOWEST folders.

Some WM materials JR scanned, and sent several over to Larry Kline for preview.
We then placed this image drawing in the Historic Documents file, with no
text/copy info attached. Our knowledge of WM operations was/is limited.

I would be willing to review some or all of the items in the WM/Bowest files in the D Elder Collection for any explainations and or clarifications.

OK Dave,
I'll talk to JR on a plan.
BTW, have you had any "search time" of the original P&WV Co. records?
GPS sent almost all of these over to the Hi-Line.
Maybe, some additional WM
materials mixed in these 60, or so cases. We have had only
a 50% very quick glance thru... some assorted WM stuff
(C'ville/BOWEST) circa: 1930 to about 1968? The difficult & time consuming part, is to
dig thru the archives to find the WM materials.

I need a clarification on the P&WV files that you have.

I was under the impression that a couple of files were located on WM/Connellsville/Bowest. 60+ cases will require alot of time and effort to go thru, IF there is any other material related to what I'm interested in.

It can be done, but its going to take awhile.

No I haven't had any "SEARCH TIME" on these files in person or otherwise.

Also where are these located?

Question:
I need a clarification on the P&WV files that you have.

Answer:
These Archive files are for the most part,
Official P&WV Co. Records.
This original collection was rescued by GPS and
Bill P. from the old Rook Yard materials building.
Gene spent many hard weeks sorting/hauling out this material
before the N&W/NS transferred/turned over the lease to the
new W&LE Co. If Gene & Bill did not take action, all of this stuff would have been lost!
Loaded in a dumpster & hauled away forever.

Question:

60+ cases will require alot of time and effort to go thru,
IF there is any other material related to what I'm interested in.

Answer: Gene, and some Hi-Line folks started to pull/select & set-aside some of this related WM material.
Only two WM binders so far, a wide range of info from 1930-1969.... with many mixed cases
yet to search-thru.

Question: It can be done, but its going to take awhile.

Answer: Yes, a "Lot of Time"!

Question: No I haven't had any "SEARCH TIME" on these files in person or otherwise.
Answer:
OK, Need to show you what we uncovered so far, and
a quick-look at all the cases yet to be searched.

Question: Also where are these located?
Answer:
South hills, Brentwood- Mt.Lebanon area.

GPS & Biil P and I were the sponsors of the "ALPHABET ROUTE DAY" seminar back in the Mid 1990's near Longview in Bethel Park.

I applaud their efforts in saving this material from destruction.

When going thru this material, I intend to copy items of interest of my research.

I will assume responsiblity for all copying and nothing will be removed from the location.

meet & discuss...
you can E-mail us or call, perhaps just put a suggestion on the BB.

Ok, 2016 is fine with us.

BTW, uncovered these original letters/files.
The proposed use by WM of P&WV FM power
between Bowest & Cumberland.
Date: Oct. 27, 1953 and Nov. 27, 1953.
