Well. about 8:30-9 A.M. or so, heard a WLE man working up
Rt.51 and thru Shannon & Longview. Sounded like a slow moving heavy
East-bound for Monessen/C'ville? Not sure, but he may have dropped
25 loads(Frac sand/Tank cars) or so at Bruceton. We were a little to late to see'm.
About this same time got a call from a Carload Express friend.
AVR was about to pull Glenwood yard with 75+. Two trains combined.
The Washington/84 run with about 25 or so loads, then 50 mty. tank-cars for the WLE inter-change.
We Caught this train @ Streets Run & E. Willock Rd. Sure enough,
two(2) AVR GP 40-2's on the head-end and three(3) matching SD 40-3's
shov'n on the rear work'n hard!
At Bruceton Interchange, the two GP-40s and head-end cars were
split-off, and this train headed to Wash./84 Pa. The three SD-40's then began to switch-around
to pick-up 25 or so loads off the WE siding. then shove the 50 or so
mty-tanks on that same siding for the next WLE Rook/West bound train.
JZ & two Grandson's. |

Me & the youngest grandson caught the AVR's
Wash./84 Pa. run this late A.M. Three(3) units, one
Grey GP-40-2 and two GP-11's with
21 loads @ Bruceton X-ing.
....if the WLE drops tank loads at Bruceton Interchange this afternoon,
the same AVR crew will pick-up (about 4p.m. or so) on their way back to
Glenwood Yard. |
