Yes, this is very shocking and sad news. I was just talking with Larry via email a few months ago about another article for the "Little Giant" magazine. Larry was a very knowledgeable and helpful model railroad friend, he will be greatly missed.

Very sad news, indeed. Quite a fount of SW PA railroad knowledge. We'll miss his help on the graphics project.

This just came across on the P&LE group:

Quote:

Larry had a hemorrhagic stroke sometime yesterday (a blood vessel burst
in his brain). He was in his upstairs office at the time and was able to call
911 and Dana’s cell phone. He got downstairs and let in the emergency
crew. He died sometime this morning. Dana said the stroke was too
severe to survive, and he would have had no quality of life, if he had
survived.

Dana said Larry will be cremated this month. I don’t know whether there
will be a service at that time. She mentioned that there will be a memorial
gathering sometime in May, where his friends will gather at the house to
run the trains in his honor. No word on a date at this time.

Thank you for the up-date Rich/Tom,
keep the Hi-Line BB informed of any memorial plans,
it would be an honor to attend.
