Jez' it's supos'd to be a secret!
Ya'kno if I can sell two more of them Lanterns, I
could buy(maybe) them 3-chime Leslies for the roof!
...or maybe just a new Sear's Battery to get the sweet-Metro-ride started.
I don't know, should i have waited a few more years till' i retired?
JZ.
....still roll'n more pennies for gas $$$. |

What I, and everyone else, really want to know is: How did you get that 38D-10 OP engine to fit under the hood? And, what kind of mileage do you get? _________________ Eric Schlentner

I think that is the best looking Geo Metro I've ever seen. I really like how it even has a "F" on the front bumper..... _________________ Regards,

While we are on the subject of the FM 38D-10 Opposed piston diesel engine, here is a photo I'll bet the machinist at Rook will recognize.

That photo demonstrates why FMs weren't big sellers. It's easy to imagine what a pain in the butt it would be to disassemble half the engine and change out two shattered pistons if you threw one rod. And, you'd need a crane to pull the liner. In-lines were/are much easier to work on. _________________ Eric Schlentner

The "F" complies with FRA standards so JZ remembers which end is the front.
Sometimes it's hard to see him behind the control stand when he's driving down the street. I wonder if he's still thinking about retrofitting dynamic brakes - We'd hear him coming for miles on some of those long down hills. _________________ Eric Schlentner

...see another good idea by Jayrod, down the drain!
that person i live with lo-these may years has informed
me that my $531.42 SS-check will not completely cover
the cost of those Dynamic Breaks.
The GOOD NEWS...she's giv'n me $25.99 in cash! Now
I'm headed to the K-Mart, get me a pair of those heavy-duty
Dickie's-Brand work boots. Yea Baby! just push open the door,
stick-out and drag that left boot...The Metro glides to a full stop! |
