The Hi-Line visited the Westland Construction Project over the weekend. I added about 90 photos to the Hi-Line Photo Gallery. You can see them here:

Enjoy,

Guys,

You may want to first simply "click" on the
"Slide-show" icon, to sit-back and enjoy them all.
Then, return, and click on individual images, these
will show information (text) about each image/picture.
WHEW!!!

Nice job, guys. Looked like a crummy, wet day for shooting on top of it all. Looks like Big Cut is gonna be tha last portion completed - still have drainage, compaction, sub-roadbed to do...

How much of Big Cut did you drag into the car from the bottoms of your shoes?

Jayrod,
yep, heavy-overcast almost steady drizzle, a real pretty day!
But, we pressed on.
While shooting on top of the cut (from Hornhead Road)
I heard JR mutter, "well, what the hell, I'm go'n down & in!
Soooo..we hiked in from Johonson Road.

Lots of H2O & muck at the enterance to the cut, However,
JR went-in & thru, then hiked around Hornhead on the way back. I (the smart-a**)
hiked up-hill to the right-side of the cut. Snapped some shots and waited for his
accident & injury report on my cell. Then hiked back on the some-what dry side.

BTW, we were not the only "nut-jobs" out this fine day.
We ran into, and tagged-along-a-bit, with a few MRHS members,
they were picking-up some long buried & lost R.R. Artifacts that the good folks
from Lane Const. had collected and set-aside for them.

We also met with the Montour Trail Board Prez. & one assoc. who was also
out in Westland & the Big Cut area. Like us they were on an progress-inspection tour.
...gave us some interesting Westland-Trail info. as well.
