Here is a 40 min. cut & edited sample of WLE on the P&WV.
Began this project in 1995 and finished taping late 2002.
Both, Hi-Line and WLE fans may enjoy some of this rare subject matter,
locations and time period.
I have nine(9) tapes in total. About 2hrs. or so each.
The "You-Tube" samples below are from only two(2) tapes, 1998-1999 era.
Other material/subjects covered in these tapes include: Union R.R. in Mifflin,
Early PIR/POC operations on the Chartiers Valley Line, and some Tube- City-Scrap-Corp. action @ Mifflin Jct.

I have watched them all and now the questions. On the West End Branch any idea where the covered hopper or the tanks cars where going? Thank you for the videos now I know what the back of the buildings look like. I just wish you would have turned to the right to see the rest of them. I counted 5 doors in that sectionof the buildings. When you shot up at Mifflin where were you standing?
Thanks again

Tom,
Next selection of tapes I will try and find more Belt-Jct. material.
I think you will see more building (back-side) from a Sept.97' shoot,
nice view of the WLE Belt-Local comming up from the West-end (CSX/P&LE Interchange)
with a bunch of cars for (Rehobeth-bound)A&K Rail.
Includes a Rook-bound "Mifflin" Local action-meet at West-Belt Jct.
Both the covered Hopper & tank-car WLE-segments were headed down the West-End branch to the CSX/P&LE interchange
along the Ohio River. The rest of the train(s) power and consist were all going to Mifflin Yard...
Interchange, drop/pick-up with the Union R.R.
Mifflin yard video, some from the far East-End of the Union Yard.
A bunch you will see from a "High-Fill"(Target Store Location).
This location was part of the Union R.R. ROW that went over to the giant browns-hill slag dump.
(Wal-Mart). I do have several video-clips from many Mifflin Locations. Circa: 96'-98'.
The sample clips viewed so far was only 43-mins.
We plan a total of 6hrs. of WLE action (95'-2002), on the WE's P&WV sub-division.
Hang-on Tom, & "enjoy the ride".
I think much of what you wish for(images & videos) may be in future Hi-Line up-dates.

JR/JZ Thanks for the video. I sure miss those Mifflin coil trains--and the video of the slab train at Horning was impressive. All good. |
