JR/JZ.

Sorry,I can not help with the number of this MofW box car.I do know the Bridge Camp Train and Paint Camp Train at one time or other had a box car in their consist. The Bridge Gang switched over to a old passenger car to keep their tools in around 1953. The switch was made while the camp train was on a temperary track next to the Glass House Track at Bridgeville. The Paint Gang used their box car to keep paint and tools in and at the end of day the painters hanged their paint coveralls in there.

Its a rebuilt USRA double sheathed boxcar based on the ends and the fishbelly center sill. I asked freight car historian and Sante Fe modeler Richard Hendrickson if he thought it was a Sante Fe car and he replied: "It certainly looks like a Bx-33 or Bx-36 class car rebuilt from a Bx-2 class USRA 40 ton WS box car. I'm not aware that any other RR's rebuilt USRA cars had the same combination of features (original USRA trucks, two-rib extender panels at the tops of the ends, etc.)."

Its not a rebuilt P&LE or PRR single sheathed USRA boxcar. Those cars had straight center sills and different end extender panels. Its not from the W&LE, WM or NKP. Those RR's didn't have cars like this one.

Thanks for the info Larry,
I have no clue as to where this car came from...
If we can get the original, we may be able to read
the re-shop stamp and any other info not seen in this low-res pic.

Thanks Again.
JZ.

One possibility is that it was wrecked or damaged on the P&WV and the P&WV paid the ATSF, kept the car, and repaired for use as a MOW car.

JR... got it!!
The "speed" of his System trumps those who wait till
the last few seconds to place a bid or have the E-bay bid program.
He paid the $price$ for this originial slide. Fans will
be able to view/enjoy it on the Hi-Line. JR's "magic dust" will clean & adjust
this rare pic and add it to a future historical up-date.
