I hope you do an update on MOW Car P169 real soon.P169 was the sleeper car for the Bridge Gang Camp Train for years.I spent alot of my life in this car.I often wonder what the NW did with it.The car had 6 wheel trucks and double glass windows and in the winter was really warm .When it was first put in MOW duty, it had two coal stoves in it for heat and later on they were converted to oil.

Bill,
We don't have much information on P-169 as of now. We do know that P-130, P131(Coaches) and P132(Combine)
all were purchaced 2nd./3rd. hand from the Mississippian Railway Co.
about 1946/47??? Purchaced by the P&WV for Private/MOW service.
these were to replace some very old and well worn MOW cars still rostered and to soon be retired.
P&WV#130-32 cars were built new for the Phila. Reading & Northern R.R.
Here's a Link to the N.O.R.M. cover page,
Scroll all the way down to the Bottom(last aritical) for more information on P-132. "Philadelphia-Reading & Combine #1088."

We think P-169 was out in this Ohio area with P-132 late 1965/66?? But it's fate was not as lucky as the #132. |
