As far as I can tell, 12 P&WV cabs are still out there. 8 Northeastern Steel type, 3 International Car Co. and One(1) wood.
BTW, the old Wood cab (now long gone) in Hickory Pa. was an Old Union R.R./B&LE hack.
Cab #825 I think, is still out there in the Akron Oh area, Private Owned.
Here's a Caboose Site Link to follow.....

Search the WEB-Site search boys! How many can you find? Get current up-date report, and post a good Pic-Link.

Well, here's the first of a three(3) part series on P&WV cabs. Hope you fans enjoy these. *Second #828,
ex-Western Maryland # 1840 built at the Hagerstown/ Union Bridge Shops in 1937...and (Wow!) still with us today at Cadiz Ohio, #500828.

Part II will be 20 images of International Car Co. Kenton Ohio all steel,
modern, longer wheel base cars #850 - #854.

Part III will cover the wood cabs.

The piece on the cabooses is neat.
Wish I had more info to contribute.
If I remember correclty, when WNP was approached about preserving the records at Rook in the early 1990's, the file drawers for equipment were already empty...When I found the ICC completion books all wrapped up in brown paper, I was overwhelmed.

Anyhow, photo 14 of caboose 829 looks as if it might be at Connellsville on the Western Maryland.
The WM had 115 pound rail with 4 bolt hole joints as is evident in the scene. On the opposite side are a few tracks indicating this might be just below CP-58-Y Tower...Greenwood Siding.

On another note, some of the cabooses had whistles instead of horns. Maybe C. Fink could elaborate on this detail?

GPS, could this be Bruceton?
I have a few new D.M. snap shots with some hand written info...
P&WV 57-61-52 & cab 839(head-end) followed by a a long string, with 4-NKP Geeps ,
one(1) NKP cab #??? then P&WV cab #??? D.M. wrote this info on back of snap-shots...
"#92 East at Oak, 10/17/59 en-route with NKP train to Bruceton interchange with B&O."

Could be a State Line Tunnel 59' detour???
The end NKP Power & cab(s) pic are hard 3/4 shot at Oak, can not see any numbers.

The rail in the foreground are 4 bolt rail joints.
The P&WV had 6 hole rail joints.
The WM had 4 bolt joints.
I'm still guessing its Greenwood Siding East of CP-58-Y.

VW,
The more we observe/study some of these old Pics/Images, the more perplexed & bewildered I somtimes get!!!
...P&WV pics, sometimes a nice toy for exercising our mental ingenuity.

Jer;

I thoroughly enjoy looking for detail in some of the photos.
Shows how well you know your subject material.
Keep em coming.

PWVJer

Can you give me any more info on #835 other than in the Akron area? I'll try to track it down if I can but I'm unaware of any caboose matching that description in the area.
