I stoped at Rook today and noticed all the sand business the WE was doing,looked like the NW days with Ford.I also noticed the World War 11 Memorial which had not been fixed up for Memorial Day this year.The two flags were last years and were old and dirty and there were no flowers.During NW days the Carpenter Gang had the job of cleaning up this Memorial.How soon we forget about our Veterans.

CCB;
The War Memorial at Rook is looking shabby, I agree.
I'm not sure when the last time it was tended to, but I do remember for many years Bob West cleaned it up, repainting it and placing new flags and flowers. We lost Bob West 2 years ago this June 17th.
Last I heard quite some time ago, Greentree Historical Society was interested in the Memorial and wanted it moved.
On another note, P&WV 101 was in Rook yesterday.
I saw it at Longview doing a Bruceton turn.
Looks as if the 101 is now equipped for remote control operation.
