Interesting. Looks like the satellite caught the same train several times as it headed for Rook. Too bad there weren't actually 3 trains out there!

Guest,
Take a closer look and you will see that each train is made up of different freight. On the Mifflin branch you have 14 steel coils and 3 scrap gondos. At Longview behind the slug you have 4 tankers and 23 loads of coke. At Edgebrook Ave. you have 41 loads of coke and 4 scrap gondos. And the cars on the end of the train at West Liberty are different yet.
It’s possible the shots taken at Edgebrook Ave. and West Liberty were taken at different times of the same day, but they are not of the same train. It’s true, the same weather conditions exist throughout this image, and the image appears seamless, but the first car of the train at West Liberty seems cut off.

My photo taken April 5, 2005 offers proof that the Mifflin branch train and the train waiting at Longview met at Longview and were in fact two separate trains. although the will soon be coupled together. As I said take a closer look at each trains freight and you will see they are not the same train.

The highest magnification images on MSN Local Live (Virtual Earth) are USGS aerial photos and not satellite images.
That is why the image is sharply detailed.
