Does anyone have information about General Concrete Products Company in Castle Shannon on the P&WV? Also was Childs Equipment in Castle Shannon served by the P&WV? Any photos of either?

Thanks, Dave Stanton

In reference to Childs and General concrete,both were at the east end of Shannon.Childs switch took off the main track and General concrete took off the passing track. There was also a cross over switch between the main and passing track at the east end of Shannon at one time.There was a lot of traffic then.

Dave;
The unloading ramp for General Concrete still exists.
If memory serves me, later in life into theW&LE era,
this was Tom Brown and recieved a box car here and there.
The ramp has concrete supports still with rail and a bumper.
I have photos here taken last winter of it.

I agree with Camp Car Bill, lots of traffic.
I have several shots of meets there at the West End of
Castle Shannon. One such image is backlit, and has 3
Western Maryland units, SD-40 and 2 F's and are in the siding.

Another meet has a Chessis GP-40 leading west and is also
in the siding waiting out 2 grain trains...
Those certainly were the days...
And not to mention coverage of the CTC before retired...
