Bulletin Board has posted that the east end is out of service to Connellsville from MPC 5 to C'ville. Any truth to this?

This was posted on the Un-Official W&LE Railway Buttetin Board on 11/16/06. Had indicated that Main track was out of service from PMC 5 to C'ville. Had indicated also that was probably the end of the Hagerstown grain trains.

Well, we have not heard much of what happened in regards to the main being blocked by a slide. Would not be suprised, they did have lots of rain in the C'ville area last week. I don't think is is a long term issue nor do I think it is a "Grain Train Ending" event. I think we would have heard much more chatter...
This A.M. I saw a WE Hi-rail Grad-all and a crew leaving the Rehoboth Valley spur heading East. Also got a second hand report that the side dump & small crane were spotted on the far-east end of the line last week???
My thought is that we will see more grain trains, (when and how soon????) and more interchange with CSX(2-3 times) per week in the near future.
The WE may have detoured some CSX inter-change cars and maybe a grain train (if one was called at all).
Just my thoughts, some speculation and conjecture....maybe someone with the real true facts can post more info. |
