Detouring B&O Trains

Due to a derailment on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad,
several B&O trains detoured over the N&W (P&WV) on
May 17, 1967.

The first detour, B&O's "New Englander".
Engines B&O 3544-6901-4467
52 loads and 12 empties - 3373 tons.
B&O Conductor C. M. Seese & Engineer J. Taylor.
N&W Pilots Conductor J.J. Kulinsky & Engineer E.G. Bigleman
N&W Pilots COD 9:30 AM
Departed Pittsburgh - West End at 10:30 AM.
Arrived Connellsville 1:29 PM

These Pilots then boarded B&O's "Chicago Trailer Train".
B&O Engines 6933-3554-6911-6928-4386
65 loads and 1 empty - 4386 tons.
B&O Conductor H.F. Francis & Engineer C.X. Stagner
Departure time Connellsville not given.
Arrived Pittsburgh - West End at 6:44 PM.

Next Detour consisted of B&O "Baltimore Jet".
B&O Engines 6914-6943-6946
58 loads and 9 empties - 3505 tons.
B&O Conductor D.L. McNight & Engineer P.H. Hodge.
N&W Pilots Conductor J.G. Ward & Engineer W. C. Gray.
N&W Pilots COD 12:15 PM
Departed Pittsburgh - West End at 12:50 PM.
Arrived Connellsville 3:31 PM

The N&W Pilots then boarded B&O "Chicagoian".

61 loads and 23 empties - 4005 tons.
B&O Conductor J.C. Dwire & Engineer J.A. Pitzel.
Departed Conellsville 5:22 PM
Arrived Pittsburgh - West End at 9:33 PM.

Next detour - B&O "New York Jet".

52 loads & 0 empties - 3950 tons.
B&O Conductor M. Urchasko & Engineer P.J. Rohal.
N&W Pilots Conductor A.W. Wells & Engineer R.H Bradford.
N&W Pilots COD at 1:00 PM
Departed Pittsburgh - West End.
Arrived Connellsville 4:00 PM
N&W Pilots Combined Connellsville to Rook by auto, off duty 7:30 PM

Last detour of May 17, 1967.
B&O "New Yorker".

46 loads and 2 empties - 2736 tons.
B&O Conductor G.W. Cowan & Engineer W.B. Stoner
N&W Pilots Conductor H.W. Vandervort & Enineer J.J. McGrogan.

Departed Pittsburgh - West End at 2:50 PM
Arrived Connellsville 6:01 PM
Combined to Rook via auto - Off Duty at 7:30 PM.

The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad was billed $1,932.08
for these 6 detour trains.

55 miles each way...$1155.00
