At Bruceton there are 2 new Union Pacific 6 axle GE engines #7277 and 7794 idling away on the WE siding near the station and grade crossing. Waiting for what? No one there, but obviously waiting for somthing. Perhaps an update later. |

Exactly how do you get to this interchange at Bruceton. I live in the North Hills and would like to see this trackage.
Thanks,

Tom,
It's not terribly difficult to find, just a little out of the way.
Take Rt 51 south from the Liberty Tubes. About 2 miles before Century 3 mall, you'll make an exit right onto Lebanon Church Rd.
Follow past Sheetz gas station, go up a big hill past Jefferson Memorial on your left. When you start coming down the hill, stay in the left lane. You'll pass under a P&WV tressel. At the 2nd light, make a left. There's an 'Exotic Dancers' club towards your left.
Follow straight, but stay in the left lane. At the stop sign, the road will go from 4 lanes to two. Continue to follow until you reach the AVR tracks. Make an immediate left, go under the P&WV and you'll see the interchange.
There are more roundabout ways of finding it, but that's going the be the easiest if you aren't familiar with the area.

Thanks Dan,
I am familar with the first couple of directions, and the remainder should be fairly easy due to your good directions. Look forward to seeing this for myself someday. I really wanted to see that big hopper exchange with AVR. Next time maybe.
Thanks again,

Thank you so much for the photos. I grew up in Castle Shannon and now live in Virginia so I really enjoy seeing them. When I enjoy watching the W&LE. Just wish it was as busy as when I was a kid in the 60's and early 70's. Thanks again.
