AVR looking towards Whitehall tunnel and Streets Run. The mainline is to the right with the new switch in place. To the left is the connection and another switch
that could be a stub track for storage or run around.
This image is from the same angle standing on the connection track to the WLE.

The AVR has a tunnell in Whitehall ?????
Never knew that ... also, nice to see the progress moving nicely on the connections. I drove through the area a few days ago just to check it out myself. |

The tunnel's actually in Baldwin Borough, but it's been called "Whitehall Tunnel" since before there was either a Baldwin Borough or a Whitehall Borough. The North portal is near the PA 51 and Street's Run Road intersection and the South Portal is behind whatever they call the old Baldwin Courts complex these days.
