Since we have been reading the postings about the
Bruceton connection (WLE/AVR) work and have not
seen any images posted, we decided to check it out,
and of course take a digicam along to record the
progress and share it with the HiLine railfans.
Below are 27 nice images of the current status
of the connection. We will check the progress
of the connection often and keep you up to date with images.

Perhaps some night work is planned?

The area on the left was ponded water. The track area was raised a number of feet to it's current elevation to prevent washouts.
A lot of work was done to control the water drainage problems.

Pallets of new fasteners ready for installation.

Stacks of fresh new ties ready to go. The WE line on the left looking towards Rook. (West)

Stacked up next to the ties are the new rails for the WE end of the project.

Brand new switches at the WE end of the connection.

A nice view of 3 new switches with hardware and rails at the WE end.

Overview of connection supplies for the project. WE line on the right lookin East.

MP 43 on the WE looking East. The remnants of the old cement P&WV Mile-Post can be seen to the left of the new MP marker.

WE line looking towards Bruceton Station. Lots of new ties and balast added to this section.

Another view of the WE line looking East with stacks of ties on the left.

The WE line looking West towards Rook with the extended grade connection on the right. The grading for the new connection
was down to and beyond the curve in the distance.

Used ties and scrap pile at the end of the Bruceton stub track.
