Folks;
Chris Walker sent this.
I have a bit of interest in traction as I used them quite a bit in the early 1970's
after riding with Montour crews from Salida to Montour #10. We'd hop onto
a PCC at Library (Montour #10 mine) then ride back to "Hilltop" then walk the
Montour back to Salida then home which was just over 1 mile...and a quarter
(.25 cents) or something to that effect for the trolley ride. Many of these trips with the
Montour crews were Friday nights...(Saturday mornings)...or during the summer
and in the wee early nighttime hours...most often between midnight and 6 AM....
then having to wait until daybreak for the trolley service to resume for the new day...
Most often my Dad did not approve of these night time adventures on the railroad -
if I got caught it usually meant being grounded for 2 weeks in my room which happened
more than once.
Especially interesting is around the 10 minute mark - scene's at BOWEST as P&WV
FM's ease under the West Penn Interurban line...
Enjoy all the Classic Cars & Trucks in action early 1950's.

Cool video. Wasn’t enamored with what seemed to be dubbed sound, though. Liked the Bowest shots. PCC’s were always a fave. Nice. _________________ Eric Schlentner
