Why? WHY? !!!!
Atlas & Others sing the song of " Historical Accurate " Models.
Yet these folks almost always get P&WV stuff completely wrong!
The Atlas Model Post-War red??? 8' door boxcar # 1202 and 1236 appear to have re-shopped dates
RK 4/54. Fact, ALL P&WV Boxcars RK shopped after early 1953 received 1-coat of
primer and two(2) coats of Gloss Black!!!!

Very, very, few Red-Cars if any at all, ??? were Stencil with " Symbol of Service " and newer Logo, on any AC&F or PS1 PWV Boxcars.
Jayrod/Hi-Line battle these manufactures, armed with the correct terrific Scale Graphics.
Very clear positive correct color, & shop (Original PWV Car Shop Ledger)
Company Archive Info. yet they still manage to get it wrong!
Well, I'll get off the soap-box-rant, get a second cup of Coffee.
And ...Wish all our P&WV fans
A "Very Merry Christmas and a Great New Year!!!"

Yeah, those were released in what, 2015? Sigh.... If someone reminds me after the first of the year, I'll contact Atlas and any other manufacturers to let them know that we have or can make prototypical artwork and suggest they contact us before they do another run of anything P&WV.
On a similar note, I still have not been able to nail down the color of the 1960-1961 red hoppers. I never get a response from Trinity - I think they assume I'm some goofy foamer (apologies to any frothing fans out there) and don't even bother with a courtesy email either to blow me off or tell me they have no records. I do have some great contacts in the coatings industry, though and so I'll soon try for any records down those avenues. Hopefully, we'll get lucky.
In my experience, some companies are very helpful to historical inquiries, and some go way above and beyond to help preserve their legacies. Others are totally non-responsive even when you're looking for records on railroad equipment you own. Customer service, right.... But that's off-topic and I'll stop there before I smoke my keyboard.
That's my rant of the year for 2017. Let's hope 2018 is better in that regard.
Oh, and High Green for 2018! _________________ Eric Schlentner
