we have un-recovered (again ) the large archive file folder(s)
on Car #300 Westmoreland. Many pages (letters & notes) of careful, detailed
movements & instructions.
A pile of Co.(P&WV) purchase orders, car handling instructions for off-line movements. PRR, NYC, B&O, P&LE etc.
From A.B. CRESSLER, Superintendent Car Shops a wide assortment of
purchase orders for materials to up-grade and improve #300. as-per
Mr. Graham.
including the letter/note/phone conversation(dated Oct. 14th.1952 from Mr. Graham to A.B.
Cresslor to have " Business Car Westmoreland #300 re-painted outside ". (Pullman Green Gold trim & reporting marks)
and properly lettered/stenciled BEFORE his next off-line trip on Nov 9th, 1952.
Also, have the new Adams Westlake Electric Marker Lamps with switches
installed.
...as for the Date & Location of these slides, have not un-covered
any paper-work yet for positive I.D. Our guess , out East,
on the PRR/Reading/C. of NJ. lines? Date: after late 1952/ early 1953?
So far, we have paper work showing the Westmoreland going in/out
of the PRR Station tacked-on PRR Pass/Express train #'s 203, 74, 17. 68, 33, and 74. in 1952-1953 time period. |
