That's the as-delivered scheme from Baldwin depicted. A later repaint changed the white lettering to chrome yellow with a larger logo. JZ can probably fill you in on when the repaint occurred. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Eric, Was the chrome yellow logo the same size as what was used on the cabooses? I know the locomotive was also repainted sometime in 1958, to the same scheme as used on the FM's. _________________ Regards,

Interesting Rich,
Looks correct for Steam era " as Delivered " by Baldwin in 1943.
White graphics including, the very early small logo with strange
looking " & " ampersand. official Baldwin Locomotive Builder photos.
The White color lasted until about 1946, then
began a P&WV program to paint re-shopped steam tenders to include
Gold/Chrome-yellow color and up-dated larger logo / reporting marks. as well.
Bowser Trains had released a similar H.O. version a while back.
Atlas, a N-scale P&WV first?
...maybe a better style choice?

BTW, some hope for VO-1000 in stripes from Bowser's
H.O. 3rd. lettering style release? |

Jer, This morning I sent that very request in email form, to the Atlas folks with the above link. Not sure if they will reply to my email? It also might be to late to change half the order to the stripes scheme? According to the web page the locomotive is due spring 2016, but you never know? _________________ Regards,

The caboose logos were 24" diameter lacquer decals. I think the stenciled chrome yellow logo on #30 was 36" diameter. _________________ Eric Schlentner

The problem with doing the 30 with the striping is the sheet metal installed over the radiator grill so the shop had something to paint the stripe onto. That would require modifying the mold for a one-off loco. It would make for a good DIY project with an undec, though. _________________ Eric Schlentner
