During a recent internet search for information on how to possibly kitbash an H20-44 for HO scale, I came across an interesting forum posting or two on the AC&Y historical society website.
Here's the first link: http://www.acyhs.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=790
And here's a second related link: http://www.acyhs.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=789
Thought that this would be something useful to share with members on this forum as this is the first time I've heard of a manufacturer being interested in making an H20-44 that's possibly not brass. If one was to try and have sound, which prime mover would be closest to the 10 cylinder prime mover? _________________ Blane |

We've been trying, along with the AC&Y folks, to chase down FM H-20-44 drawings for a quite a while. They're most likely stashed away in some museums un-catalogued archives. They gotta be out there somewhere but no one has coughed up any yet.
Soundtraxx has sound decoders for an FM OP engine. Don't know which model engine they used to record from, though. Also, the P&WV FMs were delivered with single chime horns. Most were converted to 5 chimes over time. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Hopefully plans for the H20-44 model go through as that's an engine I need to show the P&WV influence on my freelanced railroad. Plus they're such cool locomotives it would be a shame to not see the model come to fruition. Right now industry costs are going up apparently, and as a Canadian the falling exchange rate doesn't help me either. _________________ Blane |

Blane - my previous post about the horns was a bit in error. The early orders had single chimes as delivered and some/most were changed over time. I do know that the last order, units 66-71, came from the factory with 5-chime horns. _________________ Eric Schlentner
