I remember that story very well, Though these
two boys were 3-4 years older than me, I knew them well.
I grew up on Lindsey Rd. This incident became regular
folk-story-lure. When ever we dared to crossed the Hope Hollow Bridge
we did it quickly, and if the signal (East or West) was High-Green
we waited a bit...the Ol'e man preached: " Green means there's
one comm'n & comm'n fast!"
...of course I assured that Rook Yardmaster, I or any of my pals "never ever" take the short-cut
and cross-over on that bridge! A St. Lukes Altar-boy never lies!

BTW, both boys recovered well , and I believe they are still
with us today.

JZ.

Small world. Glad to hear they both survived.

I bet that story was told a lot!
