Your Hi-Line series came to a sudden end, ....with a
" Hi-Note ! " We posted this original (last and only) copy
printed and handed out (not mailed) by the P&WV. There is no record of any other Hi-Note issues.
Hope fans enjoyed the Hi-Line Co. News series.
But all good things do have an ending. Only two(2
issues need yet to be presented. April 49' and Jan. Feb. March 59'
are still missing.
Thanks to Gene, we still have a vast amount of archive materials both (documents and Images)
yet to share on future Hi-Line up-dates. SOooo...hang-on,
some neat P&WV stuff is planned.
The Hi-Line starts an interesting document series,
"Wreck/Derailment/Delay Reports" Circa: 1958 - Nov. 1964.
Plan to do 2-3 per month. (about a 100 or so are in the P&WV Archives)
Sample/preview format has been posted, "Bruceton derailment & Greentree Tunnel " incidents.
..and finally we fixed/repaired a better link to the AFE/AFR 58-page index.
our goal at some point, is to post all of these reports (1938-1964).
Finding a scattered bunch from the 1920's and early 30's as well...
Enjoy!

These derailment & document files are in a PDF format,
and some are large. Be patient, let you system load, then
scroll down and enjoy! |

Wow. An interesting tidbit from Feb. 1950 - the purchase of a new 3/4 ton pickup for $1,587.53. And that was a dear sum then. Kinda puts inflation into perspective. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Yes, I very much enjoy reading through the Hi-Line company magazines. It was a shame they had to end with a very abbreviated Hi-Note. Thank you JR/JZ for posting them on the web site.
The new "Wreck/Derailment/Delay Reports" series looks interesting. Keep up the great work on the web site, I'm looking forward to future updates. _________________ Regards,
