At JZ's request, here's the accurate full color Greenville rebuilt hopper lettering sample with Alphabet Route slogan. The link (to my site) will open the image in your browser.

O'le Jayrod even caught the Greenville* re-built-50-ton capy.
Heck, I missed that one!

Very nice Eric. I have a few of the Micro-trains "N" scale cars. The only problem is they were done before Micro-trains started creating their runner packs, so they all have the same car number. With your artwork it will now be possible to renumber the cars and add to the fleet. (two thumbs up) _________________ Regards,

Rich,
Pick your numbers, send them in an email, and I'll set up a high resolution pdf file so you can get them printed. Got to warn you, though... The color is based on the actual DuPont chip. It likely won't be an exact match to the Microtrains cars but if you do a bunch of weathering, it should blend in.
Another option is to wait a bit and I'll set up a complete N scale sheet for a bunch of cars when I've got a spare moment.

Eric, I'm not in any hurry, I can wait until you get your "N" scale sets setup. Also can you add a "N" scale 70 ton covered hopper set to your to-do list. Currently no one makes a "N" scale car that is an exact match, but Kato makes a "N" scale ACF 70 ton covered hopper that is a nice stand in, until the day someone makes a GATX 70 ton covered hopper. _________________ Regards,

I'll consider those my next two projects since the basic artwork is done. Hang tight... _________________ Eric Schlentner

A bit more info... Kadee's covered hoppers are about a dead ringer for the P&WV Pullman Standard cars of 1956. I haven't done that artwork yet but if I did, then the covered hopper series would be complete. I'll bump that one up the priority list, also. _________________ Eric Schlentner

Well, if someone out there does complete a set of decals for
PS 70-ton 2000 series #'s, and/or maybe a GATX Co. (Sand-Cars) ...could
dust-off the Kadee & IM (undec. kits) lay'n around , add 70-ton roller-bearing trucks for the KD car.
GATX needs a wood running board, more corrrect brake wheel.
Kadee* trucks & couplers. Maybe, some lite-weathering, chalk-marks, a bit of time would =
a pair of respectable scale P&WV models for the display case. |
