Found in the Archives Collection. Four(4) large 24" X 55"
ROW and Track Map for the MSW Ry. & P&WV.

Situation Plan Gibson Yard. April, 1949. One(1)Complete/detailed map.
Three(3) Monessen Southwestern Railway, comlplete and very detailed ROW maps.
Here's bit of info. these map/drawings show:

All of Gibson Yard with Mill (PGH. Steel Co.) & P&WV connections.
All of the PMcK & Y Speers Run Branch ROW.
Shows the... Monessen Coal & Coke Co.
Victoria Coal Co. including the Victoria mine loading track.
Shows all public & private roads and all related Property owners.

Shows all R.R. crossings & bridges and concrete supports.
The entire Layout of Westmoreland County Rostravor Twp.
area. All the P&WV/MSW main line and interchange yards.
Including the "Monessen Y-track" and almost all of MSW
slag-dump ROW approach lines.

For all those fans in the Mon-Valley area, this is indeed
a bit of good news. All dated March 1, 1950. Office of the chief Engineer P&WV RY. Co.
Some parts of these drawings are in rough-shape.
They now have been re-rolled with acid-free tissue and
placed in roll-tubes until more work can be done with them.

Is there any way one could come by sometime and view these maps? (I'll be in the Pittsburgh area mid September).
I grew up near Pricedale (next to the Monessen Junction yard actually) and have an active interest in that area, especially from back then.

have the maps ready & rolled-out for viewing.
BTW, we had these on display at the past
NMRA regional (Pittsburgh/Greentree) show-convention. Lots of interest
by P&LE and mid-Mon Valley R.R. fans as well.
