With all the money spend going to Westland, they should have built a bridge
over RT 50. No matter what it cost or what had to be done. It would
have paid for itself in the first grade crossing crash Haz Mat, Explosion, Fire
Bad PR The MTR hauling hoppers is one thing Dangerous Shipments
are another. Its too late to build a bridge now. After the first collision it will
really be too late. Some driver flying down from Hickory on the cell phone
will be all it takes . It will be a national news story that did not need to happen. Lights and gates never stopped anyone before. It will be bad..

I hate to say this but after some of the daredevils I have wittnessed while taking video footage near grade crossings, you are, unfortunately, probably right.

... Westland/Southview this A.M.
Track(rail & ties) now about 30' from the edge(Southview side) of Route 50
grade crossing. (Cut-thru, may begin Monday???)

Most Lane-Const.* prep-work (ROW X'ing approach) is complete.
Road surface "saw-cut-crew" is complete.
Ballfore* has staged some materials & rail equipment @ grade.

Finish touchs to the Galati Crossing almost complete,
Balfore* crossing crew(s) may be ready to move(materials & equipment) to Southview Rd. X'ing.
Westland Yard, ties, plates & spikes and switch locations are positioned.
Range Resource/Markwest* to begin initial pipe-line & transfer dock, stress & flo-tests.

... fans need not worry about Rook-Yard activity.
Folks "in-the-kno" tell us the traffic levels we see(have seen)
are a normal ebb & flo of the current-seasonal product-market demands/trends.

..in the works, tie & surface work, Rook-Bruceton, and maybe futher East????.

...and "what-the-heck" (if anything) is going on in the Avella area?

Ties, plates & spikes are now in place from the mouth of Westland Yard
to the "NEW" Johnson Rd. crossing & road approach.
Could only take a few pics before the rain came down.
Hope to be out & about, Sunday A.M.???
JR/JZ will then, maybe find some time for a Hi-Line image up-date.
