All -

For a winter boredom project, I'm considering fine tuning, revising and adding to all the artwork that I had previously uploaded to the user photo gallery. I'd also like to post scalable logos (so you can print a poster of if you wanted) and a modified "PWV Roman" TTF font file. All will be at much higher resolutions suitable for commercial printing.

My appeal: For the sake of accuracy, if anyone has straight-on hi-res photos of logos that I can average as "standards" or (hope springs eternal) a company shop drawing or two that can be scanned, or anything that might be useful, please let me know. Otherwise I'll go the long way, muddle through and post them for comment and revision until we're all happy - that is if anyone is interested...

I'm also open to suggestions for additional artwork as my free time allows.

Thanks in advance.

OK,
JR will pull up some original font & Logo material and send
you a hi-res version. (We have the original 24"- P&WV Co.
Lac. Decals both Yellow & Red). Also, can pull from the GPS originial
archives some font materials.
This should give you a good start, and we can "scratch-off" another project in
our Long-LONG list of "things-to-do-".
JR/JZ.

Jayrod, the artwork looks great. Your last image the P&WV Printer Color Match. Is this also the color that was used for the large band around the top of the FM Diesels?

You guys have got me motivated to do a couple H16-44's so I went ahead and ordered some decals from Bill Mosteller. They arrived today and they look fantastic, but now I have a couple more questions?

Does anyone have a painting stencil / template for the H16-44R's in "N" scale?
How wide is the yellow band near the top of the hood?

If I knew the width, I can probably make a template using the red stripes
on the decal sheet.

Regards,
Rich S.

Rich -
JZ/JR should verify this...
All the "Chrome Yellow" - late steam lettering, FMs, handrails, grab irons, etc. and the reds - cabeese, FM logo and striping, etc. should be the same. Part of the new vector artwork project will also include P&WV digital color standards in RGB, CMYK, hexidecimal and Pantone chip number for coated stock if a close one exists. We hope to cover everything except blacks and whites.

If you're printing your own stuff and in a hurry, let us know and I'll provide the color info to you.

Hi Jayrod,
I purchased decals from Bill Mosteller. I was just wondering the correct color for the yellow band on the FM H16-44R's. I've been using Polly Scale paint (Floquil's Water based paint) easy clean up and less smell. I was wondering which Polly Scale color would be the closest match? Here is the link to the Polly scale web site.

As a digital reference you can use any of the following:
RGB: 255, 198, 30
CMYK: 0, 24, 94, 0
Pantone 123 C

From the RailFonts site, here's the Floquil mix (haven't tried it, can't vouch for it):
10 parts R-31 Reefer Yellow
1 part R-11 Reefer White
1 part R-166 UP Armour Yellow
If you try this mix, let us know how it good of a match it is.

Wow. I just looked at the color dots on the Floquil site. They are way off - Reefer and Armour yellows look tan. They're not really so don't let that intimidate you.

Hi Jayrod,
Thanks for the mixing instructions. I'll have to make a run to the hobby shop as I don't have any of those colors. I'll let everyone know what I find.
