The P&WV Hi-Line

A Historical Image up-date is now on the site. JR. is working on Jan 60'
Hi-Line issue. Some nice info wth pics, 6 day-a-week Belt-Local, and the Sunday Merry-Go-Round operations.
We also picked out 10 images for a "Current Historical Page, WE material from another Aug.93' Reichold Plant turn.

About 300 AFE/AFR reports from 1956-1960 have be found, sorted and are ready for the document scanner.

Longview has reviewed 2 early WE VHS tapes...

"Watched both tapes today.
Lots of old action.
2 NS stack trains. 1 west ? & 1 East.
Crane 029.
Longview...Monessen...Rehoboth...Rook...West Belt Junction.
Probably all the 610 and 611 days.

A few scenes at McKees Rocks of the PIR.
1 grain train.
Lots of coils and tank cars.

I wrote down each scene location.
I can run a list of each location if you want.
The 029 is gone, cut up.
Grain gone.
Stack trains gone.
2679 chopped and repainted.
Coils gone.
Tank car gone."

I dropped off two more for review and make notes.
All my information/notes on this video stuff has been lost. Found a total of 9 full tapes so far.

Here is some additional info for the new "Requested Photos" Historical Images:

The photos of ATSF 148519 are Santa Fe photos taken at the Topeka shops when the car was rebuilt in September 1940.
The photo of the P&WV trailer is an Elmer Steuernagel photo.
The photo of the WM trailer on the P&WV flat car is a Ray Hicks photo.
