|
|
Working on the 1st. of a multi-part series "P&WV Cabooses". The Northeasten style cabs will be first.
Looking for info help! 15 units (Kits) purchased, built at Rook between July of 1940 and Aug. 1944.
Four(4) cabs we could use more information on:
(The First #828), involved in a rear end collision 12/11/48? Damage to the Duryea Cushioned Under-frame,
draft gear and end plat-forms. Returned to Rook and stored for parts?
Off the active car roster(date???) and later scrapped? Need: any additional info & pic(s) of 1st #828.
Cab #831, only speculation from old hats... later developed Duryea Cushion and Draft-Gear/under-frame issues
(on active roster but stored @ Rook?) in 60'-63'??? time frame and scrapped prior to the N&W take over in 64'.
We have a real good B/W roster shot, circa 1955? But need any additional #831 info.
Need anything on #834, both image(s) and any info.
Could use P&WV image(s) of #826.
We have some info from the WM and N&W caboose books on (2nd.#828) Also, first hand Hi-Line observaion of this car.
No record found of $cost$ of this 1959 trans-action, or why the P&WV entered into this purchase/trade or whatever??
Need a few more ( any Cab #)P&WV Flag COLOR slide/print images.
Stock Holder Year-End Reports from 40', 45' & 46' that may have Cab related info material.
Thanks,
JZ/JR. |

J.R. / J.Z.;
I'll start thumbing through the archives, but I'm gonna be out of the loop for a week, so if you can wait 2-3 weeks to see if there is anything in the AFE's and such...the pile of accident reports and such...

GPS...
With-in the next 2-3 weeks would be fine.
I'm still sorting thru the Caboose Binder for images/drawings/info we might use.
What ever type of stuff you can dig-up, or you think would be of interest would be great!
When your ready, we can do a pick-up, or you can do a drop-off at JR's.
Thanks once Again!
