One of our members is reworking the P&WV route for Microsoft Train Sim with a more realistic rail, and some other updates.
The route is set in the 1960's-70's time period, when Penn Central was an interchange partner.
I cannot find any pictures of the switchstands used by the P&WV. Does anyone know, or have any pictures of, the switchstands? Where they short and close to the ground? Or tall? _________________ Mike Spinelli

If you look into the Sept. 1954 Hi-LIne you see a picture of a typical PWV switch stand. This one used a kerosene light, later on they used a dry cell battery and low voltage blub in the light. Then they replaced the light entirely with a red and green metal panel.

Main track switch stands during the 70's were probably memories at most locations.
Locations where there were no power switches, had SS targets...Spring Switch.
CTC was in service and power switch machines replaced switch stands.
On the branches you had switch stands to yards and spurs...
I do have a so-so photo on the West End Branch of Rennekamp Switch
I beleive had a high boy target.

Thanks for the help, guys.
This route still has several passing sidings between Rook and the branch to Scott Run Mine. The wye and yard are still there at Avella. The interchanges with the Montour and the Penn Central. I wish I could have seen it in busier times.
Thanks again!!! _________________ Mike Spinelli
