The dedication of the restored Avella Station which now houses the A.D. White Research Center was celebrated on May 19, 2007. The celebration included the A. D. White Research committee, the Avella American Legion,Post 643, Color Guard, the Avella Area High School Marching Band and the arrival of a special one car Wheeling & Lake Erie passenger train carrying Jim Northcraft VP of Transportation and Jim Hill Division Superintendent. The large crowd of local residents, rail fans and historians who attended enjoyed the festivities.

The Hi-Line Web Masters congratulate the A.D. White Research Center Committee on their dedication and hard work to complete this great project. We enjoyed meeting and chatting with the many rail fans and particularly our Hi-Line members, PWV Pete, and CampCar Bill to name just a few. We recorded the day with these digital images, which we hope you enjoy. The day ended, as luck would have it, with a 62 car Rook bound mixed freight train that rumbled by the station.
